# Wedbush Sends Blunt Message on Amazon AI Optics Deal

Amazon said it entered a multi-year agreement to expand U.S. fiber-optics production, a move Wedbush called a sign that demand for optics remains healthy.

The deal is expected to support data-center fiber output and bolster domestic supply chains. Corning said the project should create about 1,000 jobs at its North Carolina sites, along with additional construction work and a training program for workers.

Wedbush said the agreement may also support a broader shift toward silicon photonics, a chip-based optical technology used to improve speed and lower power use in data centers. The brokerage said the trend could benefit several mature foundry players beyond Corning and Amazon.

The partnership adds to a growing list of infrastructure deals tied to cloud and artificial intelligence demand. For Corning, the agreement may strengthen its role in a market that still appears to be getting long-term support from AI buildout spending.
