# Tungsten concept opens high, nearly 25% of global hexafluorotungsten production capacity will be permanently shut down next month

On June 12th, Jinshi Data reported that the small metal sector of A-shares opened high, with the tungsten concept leading the gains. Xianglu Tungsten rose over 5%, while individual stocks such as ZY-Tungsten, CHINATUNGSTEN HIGHTECH, and XTC also followed suit. In terms of news, Japan's production capacity of tungsten hexafluoride (WF6), which accounts for 25% of the global supply, will be permanently shut down starting July 1st. Tungsten hexafluoride is the only commercially available precursor gas for depositing tungsten films in the semiconductor CVD process, and there are currently no alternative products
