The exact amount of money that Amazon plans to spend on the AI facility hasn't been disclosed publicly. But Amazon has said that it plans to spend $200 billion on its AI buildout this year. In a written statement, Amazon said the new data center campus will create jobs and generate tax revenues that could fund infrastructure improvements in Missouri. The company also committed more than $7 million in direct community contributions, including funding for emergency dispatch services. ## **AI Infrastructure Investments** Amazon said that the Missouri campus fits into its AI strategy as it follows a multibillion-dollar fiber optic supply agreement that the company struck with Corning (GLW) last week. The Corning deal will see the two companies collaborate on future U.S. data centers. Amazon is one of several mega-cap technology companies that is spending heavily on AI infrastructure investments this year.
