Bank of Qingdao Appoints Chief Economist Liu Xiaoshu as Employee Director

Bank of Qingdao has announced the election of long‑serving executive Liu Xiaoshu as an employee director for the bank’s ninth board session, following a vote at the employee representative congress on June 16, 2026. His appointment will take effect upon approval of his qualifications by the Qingdao Bureau of the National Financial Regulatory Administration and will run until the end of the ninth board’s term.

Liu, a senior economist who holds doctorates in science and economics, currently serves as chief economist and head of several key departments at the bank, and previously worked at China Everbright Bank and China Merchants Bank. His remuneration as employee director will follow existing internal pay rules without any extra director’s allowance, signaling a continuity‑focused governance move that leverages internal expertise while maintaining the current compensation framework for senior staff.
