# Cytokinetics: Competitive Overhang Eases After EDG-7500 Data, Analyst Reiterates Buy and $102 Price Target

Needham analyst Serge Belanger maintained a Buy rating on Cytokinetics today and set a price target of $102.00.

Serge Belanger has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors tied to the competitive landscape in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and the implications for Cytokinetics. Edgewise Therapeutics’ EDG-7500 Phase 2 data did not clearly surpass the efficacy or safety profile of cardiac myosin inhibitors, and raised lingering questions around atrial fibrillation and ongoing echocardiography needs, reducing the perceived threat to established and emerging therapies.

With EDG-7500 no longer viewed as a clearly superior option, Belanger sees this as a de‑risking event that shifts investor attention back to Cytokinetics’ Myqorzo launch and upcoming label enhancements. In his view, this clearing of a key competitive overhang supports the company’s commercial outlook and justifies maintaining a Buy rating along with an unchanged $102 price target for CYTK. 

In another report released on June 5, J.P. Morgan also maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a $97.00 price target.
