# Swiss Life Asset Managers Exits Amprion After 15 Years

Swiss Life Asset Managers announced the transaction on Monday evening, marking the exit from an investment it first entered in 2011 — its inaugural commitment in infrastructure as an asset class.

The sale, the company said, fully realizes the value appreciation achieved over the holding period. Swiss Life Asset Managers did not disclose the return on investment.

Amprion operates an extra-high-voltage network spanning some 11,000 kilometers from the North Sea to the Alps across seven German federal states, supplying electricity to around 29 million people. It ranks among Europe's leading transmission system operators.

**Capital Earmarked for New Opportunities**

**Christoph Manser**, Head Infrastructure Equity International at Swiss Life Asset Managers, framed the move in strategic terms. «The stake in Amprion was a key investment for the establishment and development of our infrastructure platform. After some 15 years, the time has come to transfer the holding into new hands,» he said.

**Christoph Gisler**, Head Infrastructure Equity, added that the transaction demonstrates the firm's ability to generate and realize value across the full investment cycle. «The capital released will be deployed selectively into new attractive opportunities in our target markets,» Gisler said.

**A Platform Managing More Than 13 Billion Euros**

The Swiss Life Asset Managers Infrastructure Equity platform was established in 2011 and today manages assets of more than 13 billion euros on behalf of clients and partners.

A team of 70 investment specialists has deployed capital across more than 80 infrastructure assets through 15 solutions spanning energy, transport, communications, and renewable energy.
