# South Korea's LG Electronics expects its second-quarter profit to more than double

South Korea's LG Electronics predicts that its profits in the second quarter will more than double, thanks to tariff refunds in the United States and the resilience of its home appliance, television, and automotive parts businesses.

In a preliminary earnings report released on Tuesday, the company stated that its operating profit for the April to June quarter is expected to be 1.579 trillion won (approximately USD 1.03 billion). This forecast represents an increase of nearly 150% compared to the same period last year. Analysts had previously estimated LG Electronics' operating profit for the second quarter to be 1.071 trillion won.

The company also stated that revenue for the quarter is expected to grow by 15% to 23.830 trillion won, exceeding market expectations.

LG Electronics' stock price has nearly doubled this year.

The company is scheduled to release its complete quarterly results later this month
