# Spot Gold Price Briefly Sinks Below USD4,100/oz; Mainland Gold Jewelry Listed Prices Continue to Decline

Spot gold briefly busted below USD4,100 per ounce this morning (8th). Listed prices for gold jewelry at major mainland gold brands continued to decline, with per-gram prices at some brands dropping by as much as RMB467 from their peak levels at the beginning of the year.

LFX (600612.SH) +0.110 (+0.324%) quoted RMB1,246 per gram, down RMB467 from its peak of RMB1,713 at the beginning of the year; CHOW SANG SANG (00116.HK) +0.110 (+1.085%) Short selling $337.67K; Ratio 5.676% quoted RMB1,249 per gram, down RMB459 from its peak of RMB1,708 at the beginning of the year; CHOW TAI FOOK (01929.HK) +0.140 (+1.231%) Short selling $27.23M; Ratio 14.397% quoted RMB1,252 per gram, down RMB454 from its peak of RMB1,706 during the year.
