# SMIC climbs over 5% amid semiconductor rally

SMIC (981.HK) climbed more than 5% during regular trading to **HK$77.80**.

The Hong Kong semiconductor sector rallied broadly ahead of the upcoming 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, boosting domestic chip stocks. Sustained inflows from southbound funds also supported the price increase.
