# JTC, GovTech tap Panasonic to test AI building tech for Punggol Digital District

**They will explore AI-powered anomaly detection systems.**

JTC and the Government Technology Agency of Singapore have onboarded Panasonic as the first partner to use the Open Digital Platform (ODP), Punggol Digital District's (PDD) smart operating system, to develop and test artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled building solutions in a live urban environment.

Built by JTC, the ODP aggregates real-time data from more than 20,000 sensors across PDD into a common backend, powering a digital twin of the district that enables real-time visualisation, simulation of district conditions based on historical data, and virtual testing of new technologies before deployment.

In line with this, JTC, Panasonic Electric Works Company, and Panasonic R&D Centre Singapore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop, deploy, and validate AI-enabled smart infrastructure and facilities management solutions using the platform.

The partners are exploring AI-powered anomaly detection systems designed to identify unusual building conditions and trigger automated inspection and response actions.

JTC has structured the platform with data security safeguards—all data shared with tenants such as Panasonic is curated and anonymised, with proprietary tenant and project data isolated through controlled access boundaries, governed permissions, and separate logical data zones.
