# China Hongqiao rises over 8% as metal sector rebounds

China Hongqoating (1378.HK) rose over 8% during regular trading to **23.24** HKD.

The move came as the Hang Seng Index reversed sharply in the afternoon, with resource and shipping stocks leading gains. The 有色金属 sector bottomed out before recovering, with China Aluminum surging more than 9.5%, while Jiangxi Copper also climbed over 7%.

On the catalyst front, the company earlier released a profit preview, forecasting a roughly 39% year-on-year increase in net profit for the six months ended June 30, 2026, driven by higher aluminum alloy prices. Bank of America reiterated its "Buy" rating with a target price of 30 HKD, noting implied second-quarter profit growth of around 20% quarter-over-quarter, signaling accelerating earnings momentum. UBS also maintained a "Buy" rating, arguing that market concerns about oversupply are excessive given the company's attractive dividend yield.
