# Aktis Oncology Initiated at Buy on AKY-1189’s Potential to Surpass Current Second-Line Bladder Cancer Chemotherapy Benchmark

William Blair analyst Alexandra Ramsey has maintained their bullish stance on AKTS stock, giving a Buy rating today.

Alexandra Ramsey has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors that highlight Aktis Oncology’s favorable positioning in second-line bladder cancer. The recent Padcev plus Keytruda data at ASCO set a clear efficacy bar for post-regimen chemotherapy, with objective response rates around 20% and median survival of roughly 11 months, which now serves as a tangible benchmark for Aktis’s lead program.

Alexandra Ramsey’s rating is based on the view that AKY-1189 can potentially outperform this chemotherapy standard while offering a more tolerable, chemotherapy‑free option for patients. While early Phase Ib results in 2027 will emphasize safety with limited efficacy readouts, the significant unmet need and well-defined 20% ORR hurdle create a compelling risk‑reward profile that supports a Buy recommendation on Aktis Oncology.
