# ZTE, Chinese Society of Engineers to jointly open tech training center in Vietnam

China’s ZTE Corporation and the Chinese Society of Engineers (CSE) will cooperate to establish the Center for Excellence in Engineering Capacity Building (CEECB), a technology training center in Hanoi.

In a statement on Monday, ZTE, a provider of information and communication technology solutions, said the two sides have signed a letter of intent for the move, in order to attract engineers across Southeast Asia.

The Center for Excellence in Engineering Capacity Building (CEECB) will focus on 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), and computing network technologies. Preparations began in June 2025 and the center plans to extend beyond Vietnam to Cambodia and Laos.

The training curriculum will cover 5G network deployment, AI application development, and computing network architecture, incorporating project-based training and real-world case studies. CSE and ZTE said they have completed preliminary research and program design ahead of the center’s launch.

Sun Fangping, Senior Vice President and President of Global Services at ZTE, said the signing marks a further step in the company’s global capability-building efforts. Sun said ZTE has hosted two editions of an Engineering Capacity Building Program in Nanjing and Shenzhen since 2025, attracting more than 140 senior engineers.

Zhao Kai, Managing Director of ZTE’s Vietnam Engineering Service Office, said the company has established university partnerships in Vietnam involving joint lectures, internships, faculty training, and campus recruitment.

Wang Shurui, Director-General of the CAST Center for Professional Training and Services and Executive Deputy Secretary-General (Designate) of CSE, said the joint center aims to share China’s engineering experience and raise skill levels among both Chinese and international engineers through science, technology, and cultural exchanges.
