# Nvidia (NVDA) Bets Bigger on Japan after Physical AI Pushes in China and South Korea

Nvidia (NVDA) is doubling down on its physical AI and robotics push in Japan following its recent pushes in China and South Korea. On Wednesday, the chipmaking giant said 21 Japanese firms and robotics-focused non-profit AIRoA will join its Cosmos Coalition.

## **Nvidia Expands Cosmos Coalition to Japan**

Cosmos is Nvidia's platform for foundational AI models for building physical AI — that is, systems that can interact with and act directly in the real world. Nvidia launched the Cosmos Coalition in late May

The coalition brings together world model builders, AI developers, and physical AI companies to accelerate the development of open-world models. Japanese companies lined up to join the coalition include Fujitsu (FJTSY), FANUC (FANUY), SoftBank (SFTBY), and Sony Group (SONY). There is also Honda R&D (HMC) and Mitsubishi Corp. (MITSY), among others.

## **'The Next Generation of Intelligent Machines'**

According to Nvidia, IT services and tech company Fujitsu is working with firms such as robotics maker FANUC, Yaskawa Electric (YASKY), and Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KWHIY). They plan to develop a shared system to control physical AI using Nvidia's technologies.

Others are building on Nvidia's physical AI stack. These include the robotics startup Enactic, Honda R&D, the diversified trading conglomerate Mitsubishi, and the automation and sensing tech firm OMRON.

"The next frontier of AI is in the physical world, and this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Japan," noted Jensen Huang, Nvidia's CEO.

"By combining its world-leading heritage in manufacturing, precision engineering and robotics with Nvidia Cosmos, Isaac, Metropolis and Jetson, Japan's innovators are building the next generation of intelligent machines," Huang added.

## **Japanese Firms Build Local AI Models with Nvidia Tech**

Meanwhile, Nvidia disclosed in a separate statement that other Japanese institutions and businesses are using Nemotron to build Japanese-language AI applications and models. Nemotron is Nvidia's family of open-source AI models.

These include the Institution of Science Tokyo, SoftBank, and Hitachi, among others.

"Open models are the foundation of national AI ecosystems, giving organizations the ability to customize, deploy, and govern AI they control," Nvidia noted.

The chipmaker added, "In Japan, these capabilities are increasingly important as the country addresses an aging population and workforce transition, driving demand for AI tailored to local industries that helps strengthen the workforce, sustain productivity, and accelerate innovation."

## **Is Nvidia a Good Stock Buy Now?**

On Wall Street, Nvidia's shares continue to boast a Strong Buy consensus rating from analysts. This is based on 36 Buys and one Hold issued over the past three months.

In addition, the average NVDA price target of $309.94 suggests about 46% upside in the months ahead.
