Momentus, AST SpaceMobile Lead The Thaw In Space Stocks
In a turnaround for the space sector on Wednesday, publicly traded space companies are showing positive movement after SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPACX) went public last week causing a selloff. Momentus Inc. (NASDAQ: MNTS) and AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTS) are among the leading companies with noticeable gains. ASTS stock is seeing an increase, with Momentus shares rising by 9.04% to $10.15 intraday. This surge follows Momentus' announcement of a new contract with the University of Colorado Boulder's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics. The contract entails Momentus hosting and operating the Occultation Wave Limb Sounder mission on its Vigoride-9 Orbital Service Vehicle, expanding its customer base to include academic institutions alongside NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense. Despite a 27% drop on June 12 due to a $25 million registered direct offering, MNTS stock has surged over 100% year-to-date.
