# CHALCO Jumps Up 4%+ as Controlling Shareholder Plans to Increase Holdings in A and H Shares by RMB1B-2B

CHALCO (02600.HK) +0.220 (+2.891%) Short selling $63.96M; Ratio 17.870% opened 2.1% higher this morning (20th). With upswing becoming wilder in early trade, the stock peaked at HKD8. It last posted at HKD7.95, up 4.47%, with turnover of 17.7398 million shares, involving HKD139 million. CHALCO (601600.SH) +0.490 (+5.806%) A shares last jumped up 6.2% at RMB8.96.

Before market open this morning, CHINALCO, the controlling shareholder of CHALCO, and parties acting in concert announced plans to increase holdings in the company's A shares and H shares through the trading systems of the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The amount of the increase will be no less than RMB1 billion and no more than RMB2 billion, while the number of shares to be acquired will not exceed 2% of the company's total share capital. The implementation period will not exceed 12 months from the date of this announcement.
