## **Loss of Appetite and Weight Loss**

Taylor Farms de Mexico of Guanajuato, Mexico, announced at the weekend that it was removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market. Taylor Fresh Foods' recall notice includes two Marketside-brand products available at Walmart – 12-oz and 24-oz Iceberg Salad with Best if Used By dates 7/18/2026 to 8/3/2026 and 8-oz and 16-oz Shredded Lettuce.

The lettuce is being recalled because it has the potential to be contaminated with Cyclospora. Most people infected with _Cyclospora_ develop diarrhea, with frequent bowel movements. Other common symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss, stomach cramps/pain, bloating, increased gas, nausea, and fatigue.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled iceberg lettuce should discard it immediately and not consume it.

## **Walmart's Health Issues**

It is not the first health scare to hit Walmart in recent months. In June, around 684,000 bags of two Utz(UTZ)-made potato chip brands sold in 35 different states were identified in the FDA's Class I recall event because of a salmonella risk.

Last June, Walmart was hit by fears over a fatal deadly listeria outbreak linked to ready-to-eat chicken meals sold at its stores.

Last April, Walmart recalled celery sticks because of a potential listeria contamination. That was also found during random sampling by the Georgia Department of Agriculture.
