# Bond ETFs See $300 Billion Inflows as Higher Yields Draw Investors Back to Fixed Income

Investors are returning to the bond market in force, driving fixed-income ETFs toward another record year as higher yields make bonds attractive for income-seeking investors once again.

Bond ETFs attracted more than **$300 billion in net inflows during the first half of 2026**, putting the category on pace to surpass the **record $434 billion collected in all of 2025**, according to **BondBloxx Investment Management**.

The demand has been broad-based, with more than **95% of U.S. fixed-income ETF Morningstar categories** recording net inflows year to date.

The resurgence comes after years in which rising interest rates weighed on bond prices. Today, however, elevated yields are encouraging investors to rebuild fixed-income allocations while using ETFs as an efficient way to gain diversified exposure across the bond market.

“Bond yields are high enough to rival, and even outperform, equity returns,” said **JoAnne Bianco, CFA, senior investment strategist at BondBloxx**.

She noted that persistent inflation, historically elevated equity valuations and increasingly concentrated stock market gains have improved the case for fixed income as both an income-generating and portfolio diversification tool.

## **High Yield Remains a Key Draw**

Among the strongest opportunities, BondBloxx points to high-yield corporate bonds, where yields currently range from **5.75% to 12%**, depending on credit quality. The firm noted that average credit quality remains solid while default rates have stayed relatively low.

Investors seeking targeted exposure can consider the **BondBloxx B Rated USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (NYSE:XB)**, while the **BondBloxx CCC Rated USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (NYSE:XCCC)** focuses on the highest-yielding segment of the market, where yields stood at 12.7% as of June 30.

For broader exposure, investors continue to favor industry giants such as the **iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (NYSE:HYG)** and the **SPDR Bloomberg High Yield Bond ETF (NYSE:JNK)**.

## **Beyond Traditional Bonds**

BondBloxx also sees opportunities in shorter-duration emerging-market debt, where sovereign bonds with maturities between one and 10 years are yielding roughly 5% to 6% while carrying less interest-rate risk than longer-duration debt.

Investors can access the segment through the **BondBloxx JPMorgan USD Emerging Markets 1-10 Year Bond ETF (BATS:XEMD)** or the broader **iShares J.P. Morgan USD Emerging Markets Bond ETF (NASDAQ:EMB)**.

Private credit is another area gaining momentum. The **BondBloxx Private Credit CLO ETF (NASDAQ:PCMM)** provides diversified exposure to collateralized loan obligations, joining funds such as the **Janus Henderson AAA CLO ETF (NYSE:JAAA)** that have expanded ETF access to institutional credit markets.

Meanwhile, investors seeking broad exposure to the investment-grade bond market continue to rely on core funds such as the **iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF (NYSE:AGG)** and the **Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF (NASDAQ:BND)**.

The record pace of inflows suggests investors are no longer viewing bonds merely as a defensive allocation. Instead, with yields remaining elevated across Treasuries, corporate debt and other fixed-income sectors, bond ETFs are increasingly being used to generate income while adding diversification to equity-heavy portfolios.
