China Gold Intl surges 8% as spot gold rebounds above $4,030
China Gold International (2099.HK) surged 8% during regular trading to HK$154.00.
Spot gold rebounded in early Asian hours, recovering from a brief dip below $4,000 to trade above $4,030. ANZ Research analysts noted that physical demand and central bank purchases are supporting the gold market. While short-term headwinds from Federal Reserve tightening expectations and a strong dollar persist, investment positions appear thin following months of ETF outflows, suggesting limited downside. Goldman Sachs stated that central bank buying will provide a floor for gold prices, offsetting near-term pressure from hawkish Fed expectations.
