# Montage Technology: The shipment volume of DDR5 RCD chips has significantly increased, and the rising demand for CPUs will drive the expansion of the memory interconnect chip market

Montage Technology released the announcement of the investor relations activity record. The company benefited from the AI industry trend in the first half of the year, with strong industry demand, an increase in DDR5 penetration rate, and continuous iteration of generations. The shipment volume of the company's DDR5 RCD chips has significantly increased, with the shipment proportion of the third and fourth generation RCD chips further rising. Revenue from new interconnect chips such as MRCD/MDB, PCIe Retimer, CKD, and CXLMXC chips has significantly climbed. The company plans to complete the engineering research and development of the third generation MRCD/MDB chips this year. The industry expects that MRDIMM will start from large-scale applications in the next two to three years and gradually enter the penetration ramp-up stage. The increase in CPU demand will drive the increase in memory module usage, thereby expanding the market size of memory interconnect chips. In addition, the growing importance of CPUs in AI system architecture will simultaneously drive the demand for other CPU-related interconnect chips, including PCIe interconnect and CXL interconnect chips. The CXL 3.1 MXC chip has been sent to major customers for sample testing, and its penetration rate in data centers is expected to increase rapidly in the coming years. The PCIe 6.x/CXL 3.x Retimer chips are actively cooperating with customer testing and verification, with the industry expecting to enter the large-scale application stage by 2027. The company plans to complete the engineering sample tape-out of the Ethernet PHY Retimer chip this year
