# Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Valero Energy And More On CNBC’s ‘Final Trades’

On CNBC’s “Halftime Report Final Trades,” **Stephen Weiss**, managing partner of Short Hills Capital Partners, picked **The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.** (NYSE:GS).

Goldman Sachs, on July 14, posted upbeat earnings for the second quarter. The firm reported earnings of $20.98 per share, well above the analyst consensus estimate of $14.40. Net revenue increased 39% year over year to $20.34 billion, beating the consensus estimate of $16.13 billion, driven by strength in its Global Banking & Markets business.

DCLA’s **Sarat Sethi** named **Morgan Stanley** (NYSE:MS) as his final trade.

Morgan Stanley, on July 15, reported upbeat earnings for the second quarter. The company posted quarterly earnings of $3.46 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $2.91 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $21.348 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $19.637 billion.

**Shannon Saccocia**, chief investment officer – Wealth for Neuberger, recommended **iShares U.S. Energy ETF** (NYSE:IYE).

**Joseph M. Terranova**, senior managing director for Virtus Investment Partners, named **Valero Energy Corporation** (NYSE:VLO).

As per the recent news, Valero Energy, on July 16, declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $1.20 per share and authorized an additional $5 billion share repurchase program.

-   Morgan Stanley shares fell 2.1% to close at $210.94 on Monday.
-   Goldman Sachs shares fell 0.6% to settle at $90.15 during the session.
-   iShares U.S. Energy ETF gained 0.5% on Monday.
-   Valero Energy shares gained 1.2% to close at $313.31 on Monday.
