# Ericsson Names Christophe Van de Weyer to Lead Global Communications Platform and Vonage

The latest update is out from Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson ( (ERIC) ).

Ericsson announced on July 21, 2026, that Christophe Van de Weyer, currently Head of Business Unit API at Vonage, has been appointed Head of Business Area Global Communications Platform and CEO of Vonage, and will join Ericsson’s Executive Team. Van de Weyer, a former CEO of Telesign and longtime Bain & Company telecoms partner, has been driving Vonage’s growth in CPaaS and network APIs since 2025.

He will succeed Niklas Heuveldop, who decided to step down as Head of Business Area Global Communications Platform and CEO of Vonage, effective August 15, 2026, while remaining available through December 31, 2026, to support a smooth transition. The leadership change follows a period in which Heuveldop helped restructure Vonage, restore its growth, and expand Ericsson’s North American market share, reinforcing Ericsson’s strategic push into network‑powered enterprise communications.
