# Walmart Looking for Jewelry Guru to Refashion Its Accessories Sales

Retail giant Walmar**t** (WMT) is looking to expand its fashion and accessories category with the hiring of a new Senior Merchant in the U.S.

## **Future of Fashion**

According to a job posting on social media site LinkedIn, the new role will be responsible for shaping the future of fashion accessories at the company. Fashion accessories encompass products like neckwear, jewelry, bags and hats.

Walmart wants to revamp its jewelry and accessories business by improving design and quality but maintaining value in a difficult time for U.S. consumers. It wants to 'lead the evolution of the category by identifying white space opportunities and challenging the status quo.'

"This leader will define category strategy, build compelling assortments, and drive profitable growth while helping accelerate the ongoing transformation of our business," Walmart said in the post. The Merchant will be tasked with understanding emerging fashion and accessory trends, and knows how to translate them into accessible, customer-loved assortments at scale.
