# TSMC declines to confirm report of 2027 price hikes

TSMC has declined to confirm or refute a Nikkei Asia report that it will raise chip prices by up to 10% starting in 2027, saying it does not comment on pricing. The report, based on negotiations with customers that concluded this month, said the increases would apply to both advanced and legacy chips, with surcharges for customers seeking extra high-performance capacity beyond initial orders. Other chipmakers like AMD and Intel have already raised prices this year in response to rising costs.
