# Why Is Infleqtion Stock Gaining Wednesday?

**Infleqtion Inc.** (NYSE:INFQ) stock jumped Wednesday after the quantum technology company said it secured three **U.S. Department of Energy** Genesis Mission projects.

The awards will support research in AI-optimized quantum circuit design, deployable atomic quantum sensing and quantum machine learning for nuclear fusion through collaborations with Argonne National Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the University of Colorado Boulder.

Infleqtion said the projects build on its recent momentum, including a letter of intent with the U.S. Department of Commerce that outlines a potential investment of up to $100 million to expand U.S. quantum capabilities.

## Infleqtion To Deploy Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computer In Illinois

Separately, Infleqtion said it will deploy a fault-tolerant neutral-atom quantum computer at the Illinois Quantum & Microelectronics Park in 2027 and opened a Chicago Quantum Innovation Center focused on energy grid applications.

The company said the Sqale system integrates with NVIDIA NVQLink, while the new center will develop quantum solutions for grid optimization and nuclear energy research.

## Technical Picture Remains Weak

Despite Wednesday’s rebound, Infleqtion remains in a longer-term downtrend. The stock has fallen 35.1% over the past 12 months.

Shares traded about 11.6% below the 20-day simple moving average of $11.45, 24% below the 50-day average of $13.31 and 19.6% below the 100-day average of $12.59. The 20-day average also remains below the 50-day average, signaling that the intermediate trend is still negative.

Momentum indicators also remain cautious. The moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicator is below its signal line, suggesting bullish momentum has yet to strengthen.

A sustained move above the $12 level could improve the technical outlook. On the downside, support sits near $8.50, close to the stock’s 52-week low of $8.52.
