Yemen's Houthi forces claimed attacks on two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea. Brent crude oil futures once climbed above USD100 per barrel, reaching a near two-month high. Market concerns over inflation intensified, with the US 10-year Treasury yield rising to around 4.7%, the highest since January 2025. The US imposed new tariffs ranging from 10% to 12.5% on 60 countries or regions, dampening market sentiment. China's three major A-share indices moved lower today (24th). The Shanghai Composite Index fell 62 points or 1.6% to close at 3,814, with turnover of RMB915.366 billion. The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 348 points or 2.5% to 13,774, with turnover of RMB1.016 trillion. The ChiNext Index declined 94 points or 2.7% to 3,480, with turnover of RMB446.933 billion. Major mainland Chinese banking stocks remained stable. ICBC (601398.SH) +0.070 (+0.911%) and CMB (600036.SH) +0.290 (+0.745%) rose 0.8% to 0.9% for the day, while CCB (601939.SH) +0.020 (+0.195%) edged up 0.2%. Chinese insurer stocks weakened, with PING AN OF CHINA (601318.SH) \-0.280 (-0.516%) down 0.5%, while NCI (601336.SH) \-2.600 (-3.956%) , CHINA PACIFIC INSURANCE (601601.SH) \-0.860 (-2.621%) and CHINA LIFE (601628.SH) \-1.420 (-3.403%) each fell 2.6% to 4%. BYD Company (002594.SZ) \-0.760 (-0.820%) and CONTEMPORARY AMPEREX (300750.SZ) \-2.980 (-0.772%) each closed down 0.8%. The world's fourth-largest DRAM producer Changxin Technology (688825.SH) announced that it will list on the STAR Market next Monday (27th). Chip stocks showed mixed performance. SMIC (688981.SH) \-1.360 (-0.937%) and HUA HONG GRACE (688347.SH) \-11.100 (-3.255%) closed down 0.9% and 3.3%, respectively. CAMBRICON (688256.SH) \-24.000 (-1.922%) fell 1.9%, while METAX (688802.SH) +7.830 (+0.962%) rose 1% and MOORE THREADS (688795.SH) \-10.350 (-1.696%) dropped 1.7%. LQKJ (688008.SH) +8.160 (+3.619%) rebounded after opening lower and ended the day up 3.6%. Memory chip stock GIGADEVICE (603986.SH) +5.040 (+1.115%) reversed losses to gain 1.1%, while LONGSYS (301308.SZ) \-5.840 (-1.554%) fell 1.6%. Optical fibre stock YANGTZE OPTICAL FIBRE (601869.SH) \-24.470 (-6.871%) dropped 6.9%. Chip testing company SEMIGHT INSTRUMENTS (688808.SH) +17.000 (+0.877%) stabilized after opening nearly 2% lower and ended up 0.9%. The market circulated reports that the company plans to apply for an H-share listing. Since its STAR Market debut in April, the stock has surged about 22 times cumulatively. International gold prices retreated more than 2% overnight from a two-week high, weighing on gold mining stocks. ZIJIN MINING (601899.SH) \-1.550 (-4.688%) , ZHONGJIN GOLD (600489.SH) \-1.090 (-4.855%) and SHANDONG GOLD (600547.SH) \-1.480 (-5.398%) fell 4.7% to 5.4%. The three leading optical module companies came under pressure. ZHONGJI INNOLIGHT (300308.SZ) \-26.010 (-2.425%) , EOPTOLINK (300502.SZ) \-21.280 (-4.279%) and TFC (300394.SZ) \-8.680 (-4.093%) closed down 2.4% to 4.3%.
