# On the Eve of the AI Summit, Jensen Huang Meets with SK Chairman to Discuss Next-Generation AI Memory and AI Factory Collaboration

SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won met again with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang on the eve of the U.S. AI Summit. The two sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation directions, including next-generation memory development and AI infrastructure investment, reaffirmed their long-term partnership, and further strengthened the deep integration of the two companies within the AI supply chain.

On July 24 local time, the two parties held a dinner in Woodside, California. SK Hynix CEO Kwak No-jung, along with multiple executives from SK Telecom and NVIDIA, attended the event. **NVIDIA stated that the meeting aimed to commemorate their long-standing partnership and to further implement the AI cooperation initiatives agreed upon during Jensen Huang’s visit to South Korea in June.**

For the market, this high-level interaction once again signaled the solid position of SK Hynix as a core HBM supplier for NVIDIA’s AI chips, further consolidating investors’ expectations that SK-affiliated companies will benefit long-term from the AI industry chain.

Meanwhile, **NVIDIA will further advance AI ecosystem cooperation with the South Korean government, enterprises, and research institutions at the San Francisco AI Summit.** NVIDIA stated that South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, along with major South Korean entrepreneurs and researchers, would join NVIDIA and its ecosystem partners to discuss the development direction of South Korea’s AI industry.

## Deepening Cooperation Framework Between SK and NVIDIA

According to the South Korean media outlet Today Finance, this meeting was a continuation and concretization of the cooperation discussions held during Jensen Huang’s visit to South Korea in June. Currently, the two companies are advancing collaboration in three major areas centered around NVIDIA’s AI platform: AI infrastructure, Personal AI, and Physical AI.

**SK Hynix will jointly develop next-generation memory products in accordance with NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure development roadmap.** As the scale of generative AI models continues to expand, advanced memory such as high-performance HBM has become a critical bottleneck for AI servers. As a core HBM supplier for NVIDIA, SK Hynix is poised to continue benefiting from the expansion of AI computing power.

**SK Telecom is collaborating with NVIDIA to advance infrastructure construction for Physical AI and robotics technology, with plans to build an AI factory in South Korea, targeting official operations by next year.**

In addition, **NVIDIA and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced the establishment of South Korea’s first AI research center jointly created by a South Korean university and a global technology enterprise.** The center will be housed in the Kim Jae-chul AI Graduate School at KAIST, focusing primarily on innovative developments in Agentic AI technology in South Korea.

According to NVIDIA, this collaboration will combine NVIDIA’s full-stack AI capabilities, the Nemotron open-source model, and computing resources provided by NVIDIA AI cloud partners to work with KAIST’s top research teams in building a talent and technology system for future AI research.

Notably, Madison Huang, Senior Director of Marketing for NVIDIA Omniverse and Robotics Products (Jensen Huang’s eldest daughter), also attended the dinner, further highlighting the deep foundations of the partnership between the two sides.

## South Korean Tech Leaders Make Collective Appearance in Silicon Valley, Doubling Down on AI Layout

Chey Tae-won’s trip to the United States is a significant part of a collective visit by senior figures from South Korea’s tech industry.

In addition to Chey Tae-won, other South Korean tech leaders, including Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, and Naver Founder Lee Hae-jin, will hold consecutive talks with heads of global technology companies in Silicon Valley, forming a rare collective industrial diplomacy front for South Korean businesses in recent years.

**During the AI Summit, Jensen Huang will also hold talks with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung,** and engage in exchanges with core figures in the global AI industry, such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and the CEO of Broadcom. **This summit is regarded by outsiders as a key node for the South Korean government in promoting international AI cooperation.**

According to the South Korean media outlet Dong-A Ilbo, President Lee Jae-myung will attend the AI Summit and dinner hosted by him, meeting with important corporate leaders in the global AI sector. The South Korean government hopes to strengthen cooperative relationships with global AI companies through this event and promote the construction of a local AI industry ecosystem.

This joint visit by South Korea’s political and business circles to the United States reflects Seoul’s acceleration in elevating the strategic status of AI. Against the backdrop of escalating global competition in AI infrastructure, South Korean companies such as SK, Samsung, and Hyundai are striving to secure a more advantageous position in the next round of AI industry chain competition by deepening cooperation with U.S. tech giants like NVIDIA.
