# Surgery Partners Announces Idaho Falls Hospital Divestiture Agreement

Surgery Partners ( (SGRY) ) just unveiled an announcement.

On July 21, 2026, Surgery Partners and Intermountain Health placed into escrow signed agreements under which Intermountain would acquire Surgery Partners’ ownership interests in Mountain View Hospital and Idaho Falls Community Hospital, valuing the Idaho Falls facilities at about $1.15 billion and providing approximately $795 million in consideration to Surgery Partners, subject to customary adjustments. The transaction, announced publicly on July 24, 2026, marks a major step in Surgery Partners’ portfolio optimization strategy, is contingent on physician approvals, regulatory clearances and other closing conditions, preserves existing physician ownership of Mountain View Hospital, and supports the company’s strategic shift toward ambulatory surgery centers while it reaffirms its 2026 revenue and Adjusted EBITDA outlook excluding the deal’s impact.

The sale involves hospital operations in Idaho Falls that include 126 beds, more than 150 physicians and a broad mix of surgical and acute care services, with Intermountain positioned as the new owner alongside longstanding physician partners. Company leadership framed the divestiture as simplifying ongoing operations, sharpening strategic focus and potentially enhancing long-term shareholder value, while warning that completion is not assured until all approvals are secured and noting that final net cash proceeds cannot yet be reasonably estimated.
