# Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon's earnings reports are coming next week, with the market focusing on AI capital expenditures

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, after Google's parent company Alphabet (GOOGL.US) raised its capital expenditure forecast limit by up to $15 billion this year, tech giants such as Microsoft (MSFT.US), Meta (META.US), and Amazon (AMZN.US) are once again facing investor concerns about massive capital expenditures on AI. The market is generally focused on whether the continuously rising AI investments can bring sufficient returns against the backdrop of ongoing geopolitical risks, which will become a core topic in next week's U.S. earnings season.

Bloomberg Industry Research data shows that among the S&P 500 companies that have reported earnings, the number of companies raising their full-year earnings guidance has exceeded those maintaining or lowering their guidance, indicating that the overall corporate earnings outlook remains robust.

**Tuesday: Boeing, Coca-Cola, Visa to report earnings**

Bloomberg Industry Research expects Boeing (BA.US) to incur a loss of approximately $425 million in its commercial aircraft business due to the integration of fuselage supplier Spirit AeroSystems. Although the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has restored Boeing's certification authority for new production of the 737 MAX and 787 aircraft, production capacity remains constrained by insufficient engine supply.

Coca-Cola (KO.US) is expected to achieve record-high revenue, with adjusted earnings per share projected to grow by about 7%, benefiting from increased concentrate sales, product price hikes, and improved sales structure. The market is also concerned about the impact of the July ransomware attack on its dairy business.

Visa (V.US) is expected to see payment transaction volumes slightly exceed expectations, driven by consumer spending and credit growth, but cross-border payment transaction volumes may decline for the sixth consecutive quarter due to the situation in the Middle East. The market is also focused on the growth potential of its value-added services business in the AI era. Mastercard (MA.US) will report earnings on Thursday, and analysts believe that its performance may face greater pressure if regional conflicts continue, given its high exposure to the Middle East.

**Wednesday: Microsoft, Meta capital expenditures become market focus**

Microsoft is expected to set a new quarterly revenue record, but the market's focus will still be on AI capital expenditures. Analysts expect Microsoft's capital expenditures to grow by approximately 74% year-over-year this quarter, while revenue from its intelligent cloud business is expected to maintain over 20% growth for the sixth consecutive quarter.

Meta may significantly raise its full-year capital expenditure guidance to cope with the rising costs of AI chips and other key components. Meanwhile, stricter regulations may slow the growth of young users, with its "family of products daily active users" growth expected to reach the lowest level since 2021.

Additionally, Qualcomm (QCOM.US) is expected to benefit from Chinese smartphone manufacturers stocking up in advance and increased demand for iPhone 18 modems, with performance expected to exceed market expectations.

Robinhood (HOOD.US) may be approaching a new business turning point. Bernstein expects the company's projected market business revenue to surpass its cryptocurrency trading business for the first time. The market will also pay attention to the future contributions of its joint venture with Susquehanna International Group, Rothera, which focuses on prediction markets Procter & Gamble (PG.US) is expected to see its adjusted profits decline for the first time since 2022, with investors focusing on its guidance for the new fiscal year and the impact of rising energy prices and tariffs on costs. Meanwhile, Starbucks (SBUX.US) same-store sales are expected to grow over 5% for the second consecutive quarter, marking the best performance since 2023.

**Thursday: Focus on Amazon AWS Growth and Apple's AI Investments**

Amazon's revenue is expected to grow 17% year-over-year, marking the fastest growth in five years, with AWS cloud business revenue growth likely to exceed 30% for the first time since 2022. AI-related cloud services will continue to be a major growth driver.

Apple (AAPL.US) is expected to maintain stable iPhone prices to increase market share, but rising storage chip costs may compress gross margins in the fourth quarter. Additionally, Bloomberg Industry Research anticipates that Apple's capital expenditure forecast for 2027 may be raised to over $18 billion, primarily for data center construction, and the market will also pay attention to whether the company will respond to reports regarding adjustments to its Mac product line.

Yum! Brands (YUM.US) is expected to face investor inquiries regarding its full-year performance outlook. Previously, its Taco Bell brand experienced a significant decline in customer traffic due to a supplier's lettuce product causing a parasite incident; however, analysts believe the overall impact is limited.

Coinbase (COIN.US) may fall short of revenue expectations due to continued weakness in cryptocurrency prices and trading volumes. The market is also focused on the company's latest developments in forecasting market business to address challenges from competitors like E\*TRADE and Charles Schwab (SCHW.US).

**Friday: Rising International Oil Prices Expected to Boost Energy Giants' Profits**

Jefferies expects that ExxonMobil (XOM.US) will see its adjusted profits more than double year-over-year, driven by a significant improvement in refining margins, although the Middle East conflict is expected to raise operating costs, leading to a projected decline in daily production for the first time since 2024.

Chevron (CVX.US) is expected to benefit from upstream production recovery and improved refining profits, with adjusted earnings per share projected to grow more than threefold year-over-year
