Today's Top-Performing Sector

Real estate was the top-performing sector, led by a significant rally in Digital Realty Trust (DLR). The real estate investment trust (REIT) was the top performer in the S&P 500 after posting second-quarter revenue growth of 29% to $1.92 billion, topping expectations of $1.66 billion. In addition, real estate stocks also benefited after the U.S. Census Bureau said new home sales rose to an annualized rate of 628,000 in June, marking the first uptick in three months.
