# AI Dreams and Delisting Nightmares: The Brutal Reality for Mid-Cap Strugglers

This is the delusion of 2026's mid-cap tech market: half the players are aggressively pivoting to AI narratives, while the other half are literally fighting off exchange delisting notices. This is stupid and here's why. In a market demanding actual profitability, the tide has gone out, and we are seeing exactly who is swimming naked.

Look at **Roku Inc (ROKU.US)**. Management just jacked up streaming hardware prices by up to USD 50 in late July, blaming a global memory chip shortage that could last until 2027. Yet, insiders have quietly dumped over USD 31 million in stock over the past three months with zero insider buying. You expect consumers to blindly eat the supply chain costs while your own executives run for the exits? Even with the persistent rumors of a USD 22 billion buyout by Fox, Roku’s current playbook looks like a desperate final squeeze. This arrogance toward the consumer base is exactly how empires crumble.

Then there's **Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp (CTSH.US)**. They posted USD 5.41 billion in quarterly total revenue and announced a massive USD 2 billion stock buyback. Now they are riding the AI hype train, partnering with Gulf Edge in Thailand and hiring 1,500 US graduates. But honestly, why aren't you moving faster? Buybacks keep Wall Street quiet for a minute, but an aging IT giant needs more than piecemeal PR and entry-level hires to dominate the next era of enterprise AI.

Two hardware companies, two starkly different realities: **Corsair Gaming Inc (CRSR.US)** and **Cognex Corp (CGNX.US)**. Corsair saw a 4.1% quarterly revenue dip and is now clinging to Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to showcase AI computing capabilities at upcoming events. Good luck with that. When consumer electronics demand stalls, slapping "AI" on gaming rigs doesn't magically fix the balance sheet. Meanwhile, Cognex is actually making real money from the AI boom, posting a 24% revenue surge in Q1 2026 from its industrial machine vision products. One is selling a gamer's dream; the other is printing cash on the factory floor.

The rest of the pack is basically the Survival Club. **Surf Air Mobility Inc (SRFM.US)** brags about expanding its Palantir partnership, yet just caught a NYSE delisting warning in July for violating minimum price compliance standards. **Concorde International Group Ltd (YOOV.US)** is touting a pivot to tech-driven security, but Nasdaq just slapped them with the exact same minimum price notice. **Valens Semiconductor Ltd (VLN.US)** is watching its warrants get booted by the NYSE for trading at abnormally low levels. And **Elong Power Holding Limited (ELPW.US)**? They just survived a 1-for-80 reverse split while bleeding out continuous public offerings. No amount of tech transition PR can hide a broken foundation.

We’ve seen this exact cycle before, most recently during the SPAC boom of 2021. The market has zero patience for hollow narratives anymore. You either deliver actual net income or you die. My view is simple: don't fall in love with these zombie companies.
