# The Pivot Circus: AI, Crypto, and Reverse Splits in the Market’s Basement

If you want to understand the sheer absurdity of the public markets in 2026, you do not look at the mega-caps. You look at the basement. I have spent enough time watching Silicon Valley reality-distortion fields, but the gymnastics happening among these micro-caps and mid-tier survivors is something else. We have construction firms suddenly playing pharma, health companies discovering the magic of AI and crypto, and a whole lot of reverse stock splits. This is the island of misfit toys, and most of them are sinking. Let us cut the PR fluff.

First, let us talk about the few actual adults in the room. **Cognex (CGNX.US)** is making real hardware for machine vision. They reported a **24%** revenue jump to **USD 268M** in Q1 2026 and are sitting on over **USD 600M** in cash with zero debt. Their stock has been outperforming the sector recently. They sell to actual automakers and logistics giants. No buzzwords, just business.

The same goes for **CorMedix (CRMD.US)**. A biotech company that actually shipped a product and is not just burning cash in endless trials. They pulled in **USD 127M** in net revenue in Q1 and just authorized a **USD 75M** buyback. Their shares have seen a solid run-up this year. Good for them.

Then there is the national security play. **REalloys (ALOY.US)** is trying to build a domestic rare-earth magnet supply chain. They just raised **USD 100M** and partnered with the U.S. Army. It is a noble mission to cut reliance on external supply chains, but the space is brutal. I will believe the execution when I see it.

And now, welcome to the circus. Have you ever seen a Hong Kong construction subcontractor suddenly decide it is a pharmaceutical powerhouse? **Phoenix Asia Holdings (PHOE.US)** just announced a **USD 1B** all-stock deal to buy ACEA Pharma. From pouring concrete to clinical trials. Sure, and tomorrow I will be the starting point guard for the Knicks. This smells like pure financial engineering.

Or how about **SRX Global (SRXH.US)**? They used to be a health solutions company, but they just bought a crypto tech firm and rebranded as an AI-driven investment platform. They also own a pet health brand. Ah, yes, Crypto, AI, and Pets—the holy trinity of desperate buzzword bingo.

Meanwhile, the reverse-split squad is working overtime just to stay listed on the Nasdaq. **Smart Powerr (CREG.US)** generated a microscopic **USD 350,000** in trailing twelve-month revenue—less than what a mid-level engineer makes in San Francisco—and had to do a 1-for-10 reverse split. **Elong Power (ELPW.US)** did a massive 1-for-80 reverse split before raising a meager **USD 6.6M**. And **Recon Technology (RCON.US)** is fighting a minimum bid notice despite doubling its revenue to **RMB 85M**. If you have to mathematically trick the exchange into keeping you around, maybe it is time to pack it up.

Throw in **Satellogic (SATL.US)**, a space data company actually securing **USD 18M** defense contracts and clawing its way to a tiny positive cash flow, and **ProShares Ultra Dow30 (DDM.US)**, a leveraged ETF just riding the broader market momentum, and you get a perfect snapshot of the market's weirdest corner. Stop buying the pivots, and start looking for the cash flow.
