Coverage of its early tests in April described a high-yield savings feature, cash-back rewards and no foreign transaction fees. In June, reporting on a potential “bank killer” super app laid out a digital wallet handling real-time peer-to-peer transfers, bank deposits and U.S. dollar balances, plus a metal Visa debit card usable anywhere Visa is accepted — a card spotted in a payment video in March. ## **A Cash-Back Play — Aimed at Robinhood** Those cash-back ambitions drop X Money into the same lane as **Robinhood Markets Inc.** (NASDAQ:HOOD), which has been building out its own card ecosystem. In March, Robinhood launched an invite-only Platinum Card alongside family accounts, and in May it moved to wire AI agents into its Gold credit cards to trade and spend on users’ behalf. ## **Venmo and the P2P Fight** X Money’s peer-to-peer push aims at **PayPal Holdings Inc.** (NASDAQ:PYPL) and its Venmo unit. In May, PayPal reorganized in a shake-up that elevated Venmo and raised questions among analysts, underscoring how central P2P has become to its strategy just as a new, deep-pocketed rival arrives. ## **Apple Pay and the Banks Are Already in the Mix** X Money also wades into territory dominated by **Apple Inc.**‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) Apple Pay and the bank-owned Zelle network, run by **JPMorgan Chase & Co.** (NYSE:JPM) and its peers.
