# U.S. Stock Futures Flat Ahead of Major Tech Earnings and Fed Decision

U.S. stock futures were mostly flat Monday evening as investors prepared for a heavy week of megacap earnings and the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 (NDX) and the S&P 500 Index (SPX) were down 0.16% and 0.02%, respectively, at 6:44 p.m. EDT on July 27, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) futures were up 0.06%.

Major indices were mixed in the regular trading session, with chip stocks weighing on the Nasdaq. The Dow rose 0.5%, the S&P 500 ended just above flat, and the Nasdaq slipped 0.2%. The moves follow two straight weeks of declines, including Friday's drop in chip names that pulled the Nasdaq lower while the Dow and S&P 500 inched higher.

Traders now face a packed lineup, with Amazon (AMZN), Meta (META), Microsoft (MSFT), and Apple (AAPL) reporting. Analysts say hyperscalers may lift capex again, keeping pressure on some tech names even as AI spending supports the broader economy. The Fed will deliver its rate decision Wednesday, with investors expecting no change but looking for clues on the path ahead. 

On Tuesday, the consumer confidence data will be released, along with earnings from Coca‑Cola (KO), UPS (UPS), Corning (GLW), and Boeing (BA).
