Over the first half, organic sales at the fashion and leather goods division fell 1 per cent, an improvement on the 3 per cent decline in the second half of 2025 and the 7 per cent drop in the first, with the group noting a “rapid acceleration” in the United States. Group-wide organic revenue rose 2 per cent during the first half of 2026, accelerating from the 1 per cent organic growth reported in the second half of last year. Growth accelerated to 3 per cent in the second quarter, even though the war in the Middle East cost the group a percentage point of organic growth, according to LVMH. The Wine and Spirit division saw 5 per cent organic growth during the first half of the year, a visible improvement from the 4 per cent decline in the second half of 2025. Notably, the group saw persisting positive momentum for Hennessy cognac in China since the Chinese New Year, according to LVMH. The group’s cognac sales had previously plunged in China since Beijing imposed provisional anti-dumping duties on European brandy as retaliation to Brussels’ tariffs on made-in-China electric vehicles. China and France eventually negotiated a solution where Beijing exempted roughly 90 per cent of French cognac export volume to China from the levy – including major producers Hennessy, Martell and Rémy Martin – in exchange for them to sign on to a minimum export price. The reprieve was only partial: LVMH’s cognac and spirits revenue still fell 12 per cent organically over 2025, citing trade tensions in the US and China in the group’s 2025 annual results. LVMH is the first of three major French groups to announce its half-year results, with Kering and Hermes set to publish their own results on Tuesday and Wednesday. The results also landed as the group’s chairman Bernard Arnault was publicly feuding with French newspaper Le Monde over a six-part investigation the paper published last week into his inner circle, his media holdings and the succession tensions among his five children. Arnault dismissed the series in a three-page letter posted on LVMH’s press account on X on Sunday evening, denying any rift in the family. The richest man in France also personally joined Elon Musk’s platform on Monday – his first personal presence on social media – to thank supporters. ### Related Stocks - [LVMUY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/LVMUY.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Dior and Louis Vuitton help their owner LVMH return to growth](https://longbridge.com/en/news/294032914.md) - [14:55 ETPRIM Deadline: PRIM Investors with Losses in Excess of $100K Have Opportunity to Lead Primoris Services Corporation Securities Fraud Lawsuit](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296645027.md) - [LEE Investors Have Opportunity to Join Lee Enterprises, Incorporated Fraud Investigation with SBS Law](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296708218.md) - [09:13 ETSMPL Investors Have Opportunity to Lead The Simply Good Foods Company Securities Fraud Lawsuit](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296682880.md) - [SUJA Investors Have Opportunity to Join Suja Life, Inc.
