# Apple becomes the second company in history to reach a market value of $5 trillion

Apple Inc. has become the second company in history to reach a market value of $5 trillion.

The iPhone manufacturer saw its stock price rise by 1.8% on Tuesday, reaching $342.89, pushing the company's market value to surpass $5 trillion for the first time. However, the stock price later fell back, and the market value dropped below this threshold again. If the stock closes above $340.43, the market value will officially stand at $5 trillion.

Nvidia reached a historic high market value of $5.7 trillion at the close on May 14, but since then, it has lost about $1 trillion in market value. Currently, Apple has become the largest company by market value in the S&P 500 index
