# RBC believes there is a possibility of a merger between Tesla and SpaceX

RBC Capital Markets analysts believe that the Terafab collaboration will be the most tangible source of synergy in the near term, potentially saving over $1 trillion in chip costs by 2050.

"The potential Tesla/SpaceX merger would create an impressive 'from orbit to ground' vertically integrated ecosystem, covering connected services, autonomous vehicles, and humanoid robotics, which would be difficult to replicate," RBC analyst Tom Narayan stated in a research report.

Terafab is a large vertically integrated semiconductor manufacturing joint venture led by Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI, aiming to produce over one petawatt of custom AI computing power annually.

RBC analysts reiterated their "outperform" rating, with a target price of $480 for Tesla, implying a 55% upside from Monday's closing price.

"We believe that $480 per share is a price level that Tesla shareholders would accept for a deal. Although there is still uncertainty regarding the timing of the deal given that SpaceX has fallen 44% from its June peak, we believe the long-term growth potential and synergies from the merger remain attractive," the analyst noted
