### Net Income (GAAP Earnings)

FirstEnergy Corp. reported GAAP earnings of $288 million for the second quarter of 2026, an increase from $268 million in the second quarter of 2025. For the first half of 2026, GAAP earnings were $693 million, compared to $628 million in the first half of 2025.

For the second quarter of 2026, GAAP Earnings Attributable to FirstEnergy Corp. by segment were: Distribution (Dx) $143 million, Integrated (Int) $123 million, Transmission (Tx) $97 million, and Corporate (Corp) - $75 million, totaling $288 million for FirstEnergy Corp. For the year-to-date 2026, GAAP Earnings Attributable to FirstEnergy Corp. were: Dx $389 million, Int $276 million, Tx $188 million, and Corp - $160 million, totaling $693 million for FirstEnergy Corp.

### Return on Equity

The consolidated return on equity on a trailing 12-month basis was 9.5%. The Trailing Twelve Months (TTM) FirstEnergy Corp. Earned Return on Equity (ROE) was also 9.5%.

### Operational Costs

### Operational Metrics

Data center demand (contracted and pipeline) increased 30% since the first quarter of 2026, with contracted demand reaching 6.4 GW. West Virginia demand rose 137% to 4.3 GW. Total data center demand, including pipeline and contracted projects, reached 24.8 GW, representing approximately a 30% increase since Q1 2026. Contracted data center demand was 6.4 GW, a roughly 50% increase since Q1 2026, with an additional 1.5 GW expected to be contracted in the next two weeks. West Virginia’s data center demand (contracted + pipeline) increased to 4.3 GW in July, reflecting a 137% or 2.5 GW increase since Q1 2026.

Quarter-over-quarter industrial load growth was 4%, driven by strong manufacturing volumes. Reliability improved with a 12% year-over-year reduction in System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI).

Actual total wires sales for the second quarter of 2026 were 34,748 thousand MWh, a 0.7% change from the second quarter of 2025. Year-to-date 2026 actual total wires sales were 149,074 thousand MWh, a 1.3% change from year-to-date 2025. Weather-adjusted total wires sales for the second quarter of 2026 were 34,772 thousand MWh, a 1.5% change from the second quarter of 2025. Weather-adjusted total wires sales for year-to-date 2026 were 148,114 thousand MWh, a 0.9% change from year-to-date 2025.

### Outlook / Guidance

FirstEnergy Corp. reaffirmed its 2026 Core Earnings guidance range of $2.62 to $2.82 per share and its long-term Core Earnings compound annual growth near the top end of 6% to 8% from 2026 to 2030. The company plans a $6 billion capital investment for 2026, with $2.9 billion already deployed in the first half, and a $36 billion customer-focused investment plan for 2026-2030, targeting a 10% Rate Base CAGR. FirstEnergy Corp. is targeting approximately 14% Funds From Operations (FFO) to Debt and is committed to maintaining its BBB/Baa2 credit profile.
