description: "BMO Capital analyst Tristan M. Thomas-Martin maintained a Hold rating on Polaris with a $70 price target. While citing strong Q2 results, margin improvements, and positive long-term trends in outdoor recreation, the analyst believes these factors are fully priced in. Macroeconomic headwinds, including high interest rates, inflation, and tariff risks, limit near-term upside, leading to a view that the stock is fairly valued."

Tristan M. Thomas-Martin has given his Hold rating due to a combination of factors tied to Polaris’s current performance and valuation. While the company delivered a notably strong second quarter, with robust margin improvement, increased 2026 guidance, and solid momentum in utility off-road vehicles, these positives are already well reflected in the share price, limiting near-term upside.

At the same time, he sees Polaris positioned to benefit from favorable long-term trends in outdoor recreation and agricultural demand, which support the fundamental story. However, he remains cautious given macroeconomic uncertainty, including pressure on consumer budgets from higher interest rates and inflation, as well as ongoing tariff-related risks, leading him to view the stock as fairly valued and appropriate for a Hold rather than a Buy.
