# Micron Stock (MU) Forecast – Why Analysts Remain Bullish Despite the Recent Sell-Off

Micron Technology (MU) stock has declined more than 30% over the past month amid a broader sell-off in the chip sector due to concerns about the durability of elevated spending on AI infrastructure and high valuation. Moreover, investors are worried about growing competition in the memory space following the stock market debut of Chinese memory chipmaker CXMT on the Shanghai stock exchange. Nonetheless, analysts remain bullish on Micron stock and see the pullback as a buying opportunity, considering solid AI-driven demand tailwinds and high memory chip prices due to supply constraints. Despite the steep sell-off, MU stock is up over 170% year-to-date.

## **Here's Why Analysts Are Upbeat About Micron Stock**

Analysts expect the momentum in memory demand to continue amid the ongoing AI boom. Following a recent trip to Asia, KeyBanc analyst John Vinh raised the price target for Micron and several other chip stocks. The 5-star analyst noted that continued strength in data center demand is driving broad ripple effects across the semiconductor industry, supporting price hikes and continued memory shortages. Vinh added that tighter supply conditions are pulling forward demand across PCs and flagship smartphones.

Specifically, Vinh reiterated a Buy rating on Micron stock and increased his price target to $1,750 from $1,600. The analyst expects DRAM pricing to increase by 15%-20% quarter-over-quarter and NAND price to rise by 30%-40%. He also expects annual resets in HBM (high-bandwidth memory) pricing to drive price hikes in the range of 100%-150% year-over-year in Q1 2027, which will spark a huge rise in DRAM ASP (average selling price) and boost gross margin.

Like Vinh, TD Cowen analyst Krish Sankar is also optimistic about Micron's growth potential. Sankar has a Buy rating on MU stock with a price target of $1,600. After hosting investor meetings with the management, the 5-star analyst noted that Micron expects supply tightness to persist beyond 2027. Sankar highlighted that memory demand is so strong that even customers who have entered into strategic customer agreements (SCAs) with Micron are not able to secure their full required volumes.

The analyst added that the goal of these SCAs is to help sustain bit share while shifting to more profitable, higher-value solutions over time. Sankar stated that about half of Micron's overall revenue is expected to be from long-term SCAs. He believes that Micron's strategy is to provide customers with predictable pricing and ensure supply through SCAs and price ceilings, while still maintaining pricing upside on the non-SCA side, which is expected to continue to constitute a large portion of the business.

## **Is MU Stock a Buy, Sell, or Hold?**
