# The Week Ahead: Jobs Data, Top 10 Earnings Reports to Watch

Next week keeps up the earnings barrage, a heavy dose of earnings from some of the market's largest companies, led by pharma giant **Eli Lilly (LLY)** and industrial bellwether **Caterpillar (CAT)**. The economic calendar is just as busy, culminating in Friday's July jobs report.

Below is the schedule of key market events for the week ahead. All economic dates are tentative and subject to change.

**Monday, Aug. 3** brings the July ISM manufacturing index. **Palantir Technologies (PLTR)** is due to report earnings after the close.

**Tuesday, Aug. 4** features June JOLTS job openings and the June trade balance. Caterpillar (CAT), **Merck (MRK)**, McDonald's (MCD), and Pfizer (PFE) report before the open, while **Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)** and Amgen (AMGN) report after the close.

**Wednesday, Aug. 5** brings the July ADP employment report and the July ISM services index. Eli Lilly and Walt Disney (DIS) report before the open.

**Thursday, Aug. 6** features weekly jobless claims and Challenger job-cut data. ConocoPhillips (COP) reports before the open.

**Friday, Aug. 7** wraps up the week with the July jobs report, including nonfarm payrolls and the unemployment rate.
