The intraday low was hit at 02:00 Beijing time when the Federal Reserve announced its decision to hold rates steady (with only a brief and slight decline overall during the day). After Federal Reserve Chair Wash's press conference concluded, the yield hit an intraday high at 04:16, approaching the peak of 4.7117% on July 24, the peak of 4.8069% on January 14, 2025, and the peak of 5.0187% on October 23, 2023.

The yield on the two-year U.S. Treasury note fell 1.44 basis points to 4.2726%. It traded within a range of 4.3345%-4.2150% during the session. The yield plunged towards 4.24% upon the release of the interest rate decision statement and quickly hit a new intraday low after the conclusion of Chair Wash's press conference.
