#### Regulated Connected Load (KWh) - Three Months Ended June 30, 2026 vs 2025

-   **Vertically Integrated Utilities**: Total KWhs increased by 4.4% to 26,382 million KWh. Retail sales grew by 4.6% to 22,832 million KWh, driven by a 14.9% increase in commercial sales and a 1.1% increase in residential sales.
-   **Transmission & Distribution Utilities**: Total KWhs increased by 10.3% to 27,611 million KWh. Retail sales increased by 11.4% to 27,355 million KWh, with commercial sales up 17.4% and industrial sales up 15.0%.

#### Regulated Connected Load (KWh) - Six Months Ended June 30, 2026 vs 2025

-   **Vertically Integrated Utilities**: Total KWhs increased by 0.3% to 54,159 million KWh. Retail sales grew by 2.8% to 47,064 million KWh, primarily due to a 15.4% increase in commercial sales.
-   **Transmission & Distribution Utilities**: Total KWhs increased by 10.9% to 54,601 million KWh. Retail sales increased by 11.7% to 53,702 million KWh, driven by a 24.8% increase in commercial sales and an 8.5% increase in industrial sales.

#### Load Growth & Generation Capacity

American Electric Power Company, Inc. expanded new load additions to 69 gigawatts (GW) through 2030 and secured approximately 13 GW of gas-fired turbine capacity. An additional 10 GW of turbine capacity is under evaluation for deployment through 2035.

#### Customer Savings

The company identified up to $16 billion in expected cost offsets from load growth for residential customers in its vertically integrated utilities. American Electric Power Company, Inc. has secured approximately $5 billion in U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) loans and nearly $400 million in DOE grants. These are expected to deliver nearly $1.4 billion in estimated customer benefits over the life of the loans and grants.
