# Palantir's (PLTR) Q2 Needs More Than an Earnings Beat

Palantir (PLTR) needs more than another earnings beat when it reports second-quarter results on August 3. PLTR stock is still priced for near-perfect execution. That being the case, I see three key areas to watch for in this artificial intelligence (AI) software darling: revenue guidance and growth, U.S. commercial momentum, and net dollar retention.

Together, these metrics will show whether demand for the artificial intelligence platform (AIP) is still translating into new revenue, higher customer spending, and durable growth. Even with such a high bar to clear, I remain bullish ahead of Q2. In this article, I explain why I maintain a **Buy** rating on PLTR despite its eye-watering valuation.
