# Why Is TeraWulf Stock Surging on Thursday?

**TeraWulf Inc.** (NASDAQ:WULF) stock traded higher on Thursday, following a key regulatory determination issued the prior day.

On Wednesday, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued an order authorizing the disposition of jurisdictional facilities under Federal Power Act section 203(a)(1)(A).

The decision allows TeraWulf subsidiary **Chesapeake Data** to purchase 100% of the membership interests in **Morgantown Power** from **Lanyard Power Holdings**.

Morgantown owns four oil-fired generating units totaling approximately 216 megawatts at the Morgantown Generating Station in Maryland.

## Critical Levels To Watch for WULF Stock

From a trend perspective, WULF is still rebuilding after a July downswing: it’s trading 7.5% below its 20-day SMA ($19.63) and 21.9% below its 50-day SMA ($23.24), which keeps overhead supply in focus on rallies. At the same time, the stock is 3.6% above its 200-day SMA ($17.53), so the longer-term uptrend line is still acting like a line in the sand for bulls.

Key levels are tight enough to matter for swing traders watching whether this pop turns into a trend change or just a bounce within a wider pullback:

- **Key Resistance**: $20.50 — a nearby pivot/round-number area that lines up with the stock’s need to reclaim short-term trend control (still below the 20-day averages).
- **Key Support**: $16.50 — a nearby floor that sits close to the 200-day area, where dip-buyers may defend the longer-term trend.

Zooming out, the 12-month gain of 262.97% keeps WULF in big winner, volatile chart territory, and those names often see sharp countertrend swings around moving averages. The golden cross from August 2025 (50-day SMA above the 200-day SMA) is still a constructive longer-term backdrop, but the stock’s current position under the 50-day means bulls still have technical work to do.

**WULF Price Action:** TeraWulf shares were up 19.32% at $18.00 at the time of publication on Thursday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
