Intel and ARM saw gains approaching 5% On July 31, U.S. semiconductor stocks continued to rise before the market opened, with **Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM.US)** up over 4%, Advanced Micro Devices rising 4%, **ASML (ASML.US)** up 3.2%, Lam Research up 4.3%, ARM up 4.8%, **Broadcom (AVGO.US)** rising over 1.3%, **Intel (INTC.US)** up 4.98%, and **NVIDIA (NVDA.US)** up 1.85%. In terms of news, Apple and Amazon announced their earnings reports. Apple reported its fiscal year 2026 third-quarter results, with iPhone sales soaring 22%, driving overall profits and revenue above market expectations; however, revenue from high-margin services fell short of expectations, raising concerns about the impact of chip shortages on revenue. Amazon's total revenue for the last quarter was $200.61 billion, compared to the expected $196.47 billion, with a net profit of $62.6 billion, up from $18.2 billion in the same period last year. The company's profits included $53.4 billion in pre-tax earnings, mainly from the appreciation of its equity investment in AI company Anthropic. Earnings per share (EPS) were $5.75; analysts expected $1.82.
