The funding includes a $14 billion bridge loan and a revolving credit system. To aid the buildout, Google has agreed to lease billions of dollars and power payments if Anthropic fails to meet its obligations. In return, Google is expected to receive a roughly 20% stake in the project. Anthropic also plans to use Google's tensor processing units (TPUs), its AI chips co-developed with chipmaking giant Broadcom (AVGO). Broadcom is expected to cover the chips under a separate vendor deal with Anthropic. ## **Anthropic Expands AI Infrastructure With Texas Campus** The Texas data center project is part of Anthropic's plan to build its own AI infrastructure instead of relying mainly on cloud providers. The company has signed more than a dozen preliminary data center leases across the U.S. and aims to secure at least 10 gigawatts of computing capacity in coming years. Notably, the Hubbard campus will generate its own electricity using a natural gas power plant. This helps avoid delays in connecting to the public power grid and supports the growing demand for AI computing. The deal also signals a broader trend of major tech companies helping AI startups fund costly projects.
