# AI Infra Pivots and Consumer Resilience Diverge in First-Quarter Earnings

A wave of strategic pivots and quarterly earnings is exposing a stark divide across global equities. Companies are aggressively chasing artificial intelligence infrastructure, while traditional consumer and industrial names brace for macroeconomic headwinds.

The AI capital expenditure boom is pulling unlikely players into the fray. CleanCore Solutions (ZONE.US) is accelerating its transition from industrial cleaning products to data center operations. The company recently secured a USD 800 million colocation contract with Cerebras Systems for a 200-megawatt facility in Minnesota, though shares slumped as the broader market digested execution risks.

In the defense and edge-computing sector, One Stop Systems (OSS.US) is repositioning itself as a pure-play rugged AI hardware vendor. Following the divestiture of its European unit, the company secured fresh contracts from defense and mining clients. First-quarter gross margins surged to 58.5%, capitalizing on demand for data-center-grade compute in extreme environments.

Consumer-facing internet and retail platforms are leaning on efficiency and AI ad-tech to defend margins. Weibo Corporation (WB.US) reported 2026 first-quarter revenue of USD 421.3 million, up 6% year-over-year. AI-enhanced ad targeting helped drive a 9% boost in its core advertising revenue.

Similarly, Chewy Inc. (CHWY.US) posted a 7.7% jump in net sales to USD 3.36 billion for its fiscal first quarter. The pet retailer is expanding into higher-margin services with the rollout of Chewy Vet Care, pushing gross margins to 30.1%.

Heavy infrastructure and legacy industries are seeing mixed results. U.S. liquefied natural gas giant Cheniere Energy (LNG.US) generated USD 3.6 billion in first-quarter revenue and continues to return capital through a USD 0.555 quarterly dividend, supported by steady global energy demand.

Conversely, auto parts supplier LKQ Corporation (LKQ.US) reported a 3% decline in second-quarter revenue to USD 3.4 billion, reflecting softer consumer spending on vehicle repairs. Homebuilder M/I Homes (MHO.US) continues to navigate fluctuating mortgage rates across its core U.S. residential markets.

Yield-focused and international holdings are moving cautiously. Blackstone Secured Lending Fund (BXSL.US) remains positioned to capture private credit demand as traditional bank lending tightens. Singapore Telecommunications (SGAPY.US) continues to yield steady distributions for income investors, while micro-cap auto marketplace TuanChe Limited (TC.US) is navigating prolonged volatility in the automotive sector.
