According to the Jardine Foundation’s website, students starting their studies later this year will be the final cohort of undergraduate “Oxbridge” scholars to be covered by the programme. The move marks the end of an undergraduate scholarship programme that has lasted for 44 years. “The Jardine Foundation remains committed to providing access to higher education by talented students across the Asian communities in which Jardines operates,” it said. “Following a strategic review, the foundation will be increasing its focus and investment in Asia, expanding opportunities for local students to study at leading universities in the region.” The foundation added that it would continue to support the current Jardine scholars at the two universities and the 2026 awardees, as well as its existing Oxford and Cambridge postgraduate scholarship programmes. The foundation, established in 1982 by Jardine Matheson to commemorate its 150th anniversary, was created to expand access to higher education and support future leaders across Asia. The company’s subsidiary is also the largest landlord in Hong Kong’s Central district. The foundation initially centred on full scholarships for specific colleges at Oxford and Cambridge, before expanding its partnerships to Asian institutions such as the University of Hong Kong and Universitas Gadjah Mada in Indonesia. ### Related Stocks - [JMHLY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/JMHLY.US.md) - [J36.SG](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/J36.SG.md) ## Related News & Research - [Jardines ending Oxbridge undergrad scheme to ‘maximise impact’ for more students](https://longbridge.com/en/news/294815998.md) - [Starbucks Corporation $SBUX Shares Sold by Cambridge Investment Research Advisors Inc.](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296071389.md) - [Bausch Health Announces 2026 Gastrointestinal Health Scholars Program Winners | BHC Stock News](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296102688.md) - [Jardine Cycle & Carriage to sell Singapore and Malaysia dealership businesses to Indonesia’s Chandra Asri](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296550263.md) - [Phillips 66 (PSX) Is Up 7.4% After Wartime-Driven Margin Surge and New Midstream Contracts - What's Changed](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296430558.md) --- > **Disclaimer: This article is for reference only and does not constitute any investment advice.**
