# U.S. stocks will observe employment and other data this week as SpaceX is set to announce its first performance report since going public

The three major U.S. stock indices rose over 1% last week, with mixed developments in July. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3% last month, marking its fourth consecutive month of gains; the NASDAQ fell 3.2%, and the S&P 500 Index declined 0.1%, both marking two consecutive months of losses.

This week, several economic data points will be released in the U.S., primarily focusing on employment, manufacturing, and services data. The non-farm payrolls for July, to be released on Friday, are expected to increase by 83,000, higher than June's 57,000; the unemployment rate is estimated to rise by 0.1 percentage points to 4.3%.

Last month, ADP private sector jobs are expected to increase by 70,000, fewer than in June; new claims for unemployment benefits last week are expected to rise to over 200,000.

Additionally, SpaceX will announce its first quarterly results since going public, with other earnings reports expected from AMD, SanDisk, Western Digital, Disney, McDonald's, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Caterpillar, and others.
